چکیده

Abstract CD226 is an activating receptor expressed on the cell surface of natural killer cells and T cells. Although polymorphism known to be involved in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), involvement soluble (sCD226) SLE still unknown. In present study, we measured serum sCD226 levels using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay 58 patients 33 healthy controls (HCs) evaluated their associations with Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI-2K), clinical manifestations, laboratory data, cumulative probability flare. Serum showed no significant differences between HCs. However, were significantly elevated active a SLEDAI-2K score ≥ 20 compared patients, correlated scores anti-dsDNA antibody titers. Moreover, flare was markedly higher high than those low sCD226. neuropsychiatric involvement, reflected disease activity. These findings indicate that are associated activity flares SLE. Thus, it may useful biomarker for SLE, its monitoring allows more precise management.

Serum levels of IL-33 and soluble ST2 and their association with disease activity in systemic lupus erythematosus.

OBJECTIVE IL-33 has recently been found to be the specific ligand of ST2, an IL-1 receptor family member that is selectively expressed in Th2 cells and mediates Th2 response. This study aims to measure the serum levels of soluble ST2 (sST2) and IL-33 in patients with SLE and to examine their association with disease activity. METHODS Seventy SLE patients were evaluated for disease activity, d...

Rare Association between Kikuchi's Disease and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis or Kikuchi's disease is a rare, benign condition of unknown etiology, which is usually characterized by cervical lymphadenopathy and fever. This disease is rarely associated with systemic lupus erythematosus. Here we describe, for the first time in Iran, a patient who developed systemic lupus erythematosus about 3 years after the initial diagnosis of Kikuch...

Serum progranulin levels are elevated in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, reflecting disease activity

INTRODUCTION Progranulin (PGRN) is the precursor of granulin (GRN), a soluble cofactor for toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) signaling evoked by oligonucleotide (CpG)-DNA. Because TLR9 signaling plays an important role in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), we investigated whether PGRN is involved in the pathogenesis of SLE. METHODS We measured concentrations of serum PGRN and interleukin-6 (IL-6) ...

Association of elevated transcript levels of interferon-inducible chemokines with disease activity and organ damage in systemic lupus erythematosus patients

INTRODUCTION Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multi-system autoimmune disease with a heterogeneous course and varying degrees of severity and organ damage; thus, there is increasing interest in identifying biomarkers for SLE. In this study we correlated the combined expression level of multiple interferon-inducible chemokines with disease activity, degree of organ damage and clinical fea...
